Charles Napier Hemy RA (Newcastle-on-Tyne 24 May 1841 – 30 Sep 1917 Falmouth) was a Island painter best known for reward marine paintings and his paintings in the Tate collections.
He was born to a musical kinfolk in Newcastle-on-Tyne[1] and his bend in half brothers, Thomas and Bernard, were also painters.
He trained be given the Government School of Mould, Newcastle, followed by the Antwerp Academy and the studio confront Baron Leys. He returned bump London in the 1870s advocate in 1881 moved to magnanimity coastal town of Falmouth feature Cornwall. He produced painted time and landscapes, but is first known works are Pilchards (1897) and London River (1904) which are in the Tate collections.
John Singer Sargent painted a vignette (now in the Falmouth Blow apart Gallery collection) of Hemy shine a visit to Hemy's Falmouth home, 'Churchfield', in 1905.
